Individual Tutoring – $65 – 1 hour sessions
Individual sessions are conducted 1on1 on a weekly basis. These sessions are individually tailored to meet the student’s current needs. When student’s come with a formal diagnosis of a particular condition this report is used to structure a targeted intervention program. In these sessions we have the flexibility to cover either literacy or numeracy needs. All programs are direct and explicit instruction using a multi sensory approach.
Group sessions – Maximum of 8 to a group
Primary Mathematics – $45 – 1 hour sessions
Primary mathematics students are assessed in their initial session to determine what skills are needed and the areas of the curriculum that can be reinforced. Ensuring that each student has a strong foundation in basic maths skills of numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages (especially in the upper years). All students have access to an online program that can be used at home for extra practice and which we can monitor. These sessions are not only for struggling maths students but also students who need to be extended.
High School Mathematics – $45 – Years 7–10 – 1 hour sessions
In grades 7-8 ensuring that correct conceptual understanding in critical areas such as time tables, basic maths facts, fractions, decimals, percentages and a strong grasp of numbers is ensured before moving onto topic areas consistent with their grade.
Grade topics are covered with students expected to complete enough work to develop automaticity with the topics that underpin and are necessary for further learning in mathematics..
High school mathematics including standard 1 & 2, Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics and Extension 1 & 2 Mathematics – Year 11 ($50) and Year 12 ($55) – 1 hour sessions
Sessions are tailored to cover all topics in these grades with a highly qualified maths teacher. Work is designed around the student’s needs with access to multiple past papers and resources to ensure a full understanding of each topic is reached.
Reading – $50 – 1 hour Sessions
Primary reading students are assessed prior to commencement of regular lessons to determine current phonemic knowledge, single word reading level, writing ability, reading behaviour and their comprehension skills.
This is to ensure that each student has access to an individual learning plan that will improve their reading and spelling accuracy, reading fluency, vocabulary extension, comprehension and writing skills as required. All students have access to an online program that can be used at home for practice and which we can monitor.
High School English Years 7-10 – $45
High school english sessions are in small groups with no more than 5 students. Sentence structure, grammar and punctuation are all covered as well as time being given to the format needed for the different styles of writing.
This is different from one to one tutoring where student’s are assisted with their own work.
Tutors will help students make sense of their English texts through discussion of the text, the themes, author’s purpose and character development.
This 60 min session is structured and explicit in its direction and focuses on the process of writing and comprehension of texts.
High School English Year 11 ($50) and Year 12 ($55)
High school English groups concentrate on the writing process. Time is given to the structure needed for the different styles of writing. For example – narrative, descriptive, persuasive, compare and contrast and exposition (essay) style writing.
Sentence structure, grammar and punctuation are all covered.
Students in the senior grades are encouraged to bring in their current texts and unit of study.
Tutors will help students make sense of their English texts through broadening their research into their topics.
This 60 min writing session is structured and explicit in its direction and focuses on the process of writing. The student will spend their time making sense of the writing process. Students will spend their time writing, writing, writing!
Physics and Chemistry – Year 11 ($50) and Year 12 ($55) – 1 hour sessions
Topics are covered in line with students curriculum, keeping pace with their respective schools. Tuition is aimed to maximise marks.
